Eligibility:
The benefits that qualify you for a Funeral Expense Payment include:

- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Pension Credit
- The disability or severe disability element of Working Tax Credit
- Child Tax Credit
- Housing Benefit
- Support for Mortgage Interest Loan Payments
Amount of Payment:
The amount of the Funeral Expense Payment depends on the benefits you receive and the circumstances of the funeral. The maximum payment is £1,000.
How to Claim:
You must apply for a Funeral Expense Payment within six months of the funeral. You can apply online or by post. The application form is available on the GOV.UK website: https://www.gov.uk/funeral-payments.
